　　今天，新航道南京雅思培训机构老师来拆解一道高频旧题—《对社会有贡献的人》，该题目前排名第7，并可直接套用在高频第五的话题《你国家的名人》中。

　　Describe a person who contributes to society

　　You should say:

　　• Who the person is

　　• How you know about the person

　　• What the person does

　　• And explain why you think the person contributes to the society

　　这道题之前没有给大家讲解的原因是因为我觉得我人物类话题已经讲的够多的了，大家应该可以举一反三了。

　　但看到后台同学们的留言，以及我自己所教学生的课上表现，我发现这道题还是值得拎出来讲一讲的。我敢保证肯定有60%的同学将贡献和慈善进行了捆绑。那也说实话，慈善这个观点挺土的。如何才可以给出不一样的观点?

　　首先，你需要先确定“做贡献的人”的范围。

　　我觉得任何一个个体都可以为社会做贡献。

　　他可以是国家领导人，比如习大大;

　　他也可以是商人，比如马云，马斯克、张小龙等;

　　他可以是明星，比如周杰伦、周星驰、李连杰等;

　　他可以是老师，比如张桂梅等;

　　他可以是医生，比如李兰娟等;

　　他也可以是一个非常普通的人，比如：你的朋友、邻居、外卖员等。

　　其实，你需要明确的是你们的“贡献”具体怎么体现出来的。

　　慈善是任何一个人都可以做的，而不同的行业会让他们面对不同的人群，从而给社会带来不同方面的贡献。同时，贡献大一点可以是对世界的，小一点也可以是为一部分群体。

　　比如：商人对于社会的贡献和公司对一个城市/国家带来的好处是一样的--降低失业率/ 促进城市经济发展/ 提升人们的生活水平。

　　就像阿里巴巴对于世界而言，它雇佣了超过50w全世界各地的人，包括非洲。同时，它为社会提供了一个全新的便捷的线上生活模式。而阿里巴巴对世界作出的改变就可以是马云对社会作出的贡献。其他商人的思考逻辑也是一样的。

　　比如：明星对于社会的贡献可以是文化上的输出。就像周杰伦让华语音乐走向世界，同时，他也通过中国风音乐的创作让年轻人开始了解过去的历史与传统。

　　明确以上两点后，我们便可按小问的答题结构来给出具体的回答。

　　开头第一问的拓展方向可具体参考此篇：如何打造一个吸引人的Part 2开头(人物篇)。 再次，我重点推荐三个维度。

　　Personality 性格

　　此维度非常适合于应用在相对较有难度的人物中，比如：习大大。

　　当你对政治人物不是特别了解时，我们可以选择像性格这种比较简单的维度进行拓展。 往往受人敬重的人都有着相同的性格品质，比如：平易近人/自律/ 勤奋等。

　　Example：

　　A person that comes to mind is our President Xi. Even though he is a top leader, he is an approachable and easygoing person. During festivals, like the Spring Festival, he always visits farmers in those poverty-stricken areas 贫困地区 to see how they are doing. He is also very hard-working. He isn’t as young as he used to be, but he is still a workaholic 工作狂. He is swamped with work 工作繁忙 almost everyday and he never gets to take a day off.

　　Marital Status 婚姻状况

　　此角度是我非常喜欢的一个拓展方向，它可以让你给出跟别人完全不同的内容。我们都知道婚姻状况可分为：单身/结婚/离异/丧偶。

　　这四块里，我会倾向于丧偶。这个点虽然是悲痛的，但它可以体现出一个人的意志坚强。若你选择的人物也有此人生经历，我墙裂推荐。

　　此处举例的是张桂梅，你也可以直接将这段话改变成董明珠。她们有人在婚姻上有着相同的经历。

　　Example ：

　　A person that comes to mind is Zhang Guimei, a great old lady with a misfortunate life 不幸的人生. Her husband died in the first year they were married. It was heartbreaking, but she was such a strong-minded 意志坚强的 person. She moved on and also decided that she would never get married again. Then she devoted herself to education and built her own female school in a poor area of China.

　　Sexuality 性取向

　　此维度多数同学都不知如何去拓展，尤其在第一小问里。感觉一开口就说他是个gay就很突兀，同时也会显得很粗鲁。

　　其实我们可以通过一个人的性取向来反映一个社会的开化程度。比如：计算机之父图灵。他出生在旧社会的英国，那个时候的英国还不是现在的腐国。为此，同性恋是不被接受的。当别人得知他是同性恋后，他就被送去医院接受治疗，最后他不堪其辱选择自杀。

　　Example ：

　　A person that comes to mind is Alan Turing, a brainy 聪明的 man who was also creative. He was born in the UK and during that time, the country was not as liberal as it is nowadays, so same sex relationships were not accepted. When people realized that he was homosexual 同性恋, he was sent to a hospital. He couldn’t bear it, and ended up commiting suicide 自杀. What a pity that the world lost such a great man.

　　The first time I heard about him was when I saw the news on TV. I learnt that he had been elected to be the president of my nation. However, I wasn’t that interested as I am not really into politics. Gradually, I was moved by his contribution to our country. Then I started following all the information about him online and became a huge fan.

　　Example two：张桂梅

　　I came across her interview online. It went viral overnight and most of my friends also reposted it to their WeChat moments. Because of this, it really triggered my curiosity and I wanted to know more about who she was. Even though the interview wasn’t really long, I was deeply touched by her dedication. Then I started following her online so I could learn more about her.

　　Example three：艾伦.图灵

　　I hadn’t heard about him until I had my first computer science class. During our first class, our teacher told us about him and his contribution to this field. It really triggered my curiosity. After class, I rushed to my dorm and searched for loads of relevant information about him. Even though he isn't alive, I am still a die-hard fan of his.

　　拓展结构：主次/时间线

　　若按主次拆分：他主要的职业是什么?除此以外，他还有哪些工作?

　　若按时间线拆分：你以前是干什么的?现在干什么

　　拓展细节: 5W1H(When/Where/Who/Why/What/How often/How much/How long)

　　接着便可按"5W1H"来进一步拓展细节。比如：马云以前是做老师的+where (在哪教书)+what(教什么)+how much (工资如何);虽然他很喜欢这份工作，但他是个有抱负的人，于是他辞职创立了阿里巴巴+when (什么时候创立的)+who (和谁一起创立的)+how long (每天工作多长时间)等。

　　一定要记住，越是不熟悉的人物，拓展维度时越要选择普适度较高的维度。5w1h是一个非常棒的拓展方法，它所涉及的单词量都在你已有的范围之内。

　　Example one：

　　Before he became our president, he used to be a local official 地方官员 working in many cities, like Hangzhou and Xiamen (Where). Even though he got paid a pittance 工资低(How much), he worked day and night and tried to help people solve as many problems as he could (How long).

　　Fortunately, as he was getting on for 60, he became our president and has been for the last 12 years (How long). Under his guidance, my country has developed smoothly.

　　Example two：

　　She has been the principal of her school for over 4 decades (How long). She works hard to manage the whole school, but she has no salary(How much). She also helps with the living expenses for some girls from poor families(Who). If she didn't, the girls would not be able to get an education.

　　She is also a teacher. Even though she has a very old-school teaching approach(What kind of teaching method), it works very well in her school. The students study really hard and most of them achieve a high score in their college entrance exam.

　　Example three：

　　According to what I know, he was a professor lecturing at Cambridge University (Where), one of the most prestigious 杰出的 universities in the world. His professional teaching ability made classes interesting and engaging. Because of this, he was popular among students and he also successfully inspired a great number of young people to devote themselves to computer science(Who).

　　On top of that, he was also a great scientist. He worked day and night to discover new ideas and concepts(How long). With a lot of hard work and dedication, he came up with the idea of AI technology.

　　I think highly of 尊重 president Xi, as he makes our nation powerful and stable. In the past, our country was looked down upon 轻视 by other countries, as we didn’t have powerful weapons and cutting-edge 先进的 technology. But in the last 12 years, China has become a different country. People are better-off 富裕的 and we have so many huge technology companies. Now when people come to China, they are surprised to see how advanced our country is.

　　这类人促进教育的公平化，改变人们的命运。

　　Example：

　　I look up to 尊敬 her. With her persistence, she changed the lives of many girls. In poorer areas, boys usually continue with their education, however, girls usually drop out of 辍学 school and get married when they are only 16 or 18. Thanks to her, girls get the chance to continue and have a promising future. I once watched a short video about some of the girls who graduated from her school. From the video, you can see that they all left the village and moved to big cities and found stable jobs.
