　　说实话，对于绝大多数同学而言《有趣的邻居》是个难题，但我的学生一定不会。之所以我会这么自信，也是因为我的雅思口语第一课就和"邻居"有关。也正是如此，这道题对他们而言绝对不会是什么新题。

　　可为什么这么多同学会对这道题摇头呢?

　　原因很简单，毕竟公寓楼的出现和生活节奏的加快，拉远了人与人间的距离。为此，邻居也成了传说中的人物。

　　但在我们的考试中，你有没有这样一个邻居重要么?

　　它不重要啊!只要是个人都可以变成你的邻居，所以这道题有何难度?

　　虽然是个人都可以是邻居，但我也发现多数同学对邻居有个stereotype。很多人眼中的邻居都是个老人。

　　错了!

　　邻居可以是老人，也可以是年轻人或者小孩;

　　邻居可以是男人，也可以是女人或者变性人;

　　邻居可以是中国人，也可以是外国人;

　　邻居可以是同性恋，也可以是异性恋;

　　邻居可以是个有钱人，也可以是个穷光蛋;

　　邻居可以是个名人，也可以是个普通人;

　　邻居可以是已婚人士，也可以是离异的等。

　　以上的例子展现了不同角度下的不同邻居类型，同时，它也给你的套题带来了思考方向。

　　Example one：

　　I want to talk about my neighbor, MR. Liu, a young man who is five years older than me. He is very knowledgeable and he has just graduated from Peking University, a prestigious 有名望的 university in China. His first degree helped him achieve a top job and now he is a programmer working for Alibaba.

　　Example two：

　　My neighbor is an interesting old man, in his 80s. He has had no formal education but he is very intelligent. He learnt to read and write all by himself which makes me admire him so much.

　　Marital Status 婚姻状况

　　Example ：

　　My neighbor, Mrs. Liu, is a very interesting young lady, and also a single mom. She lives with her son and has recently got divorced from her husband. Even though it was a very depressing time, she has moved on and works really hard to raise her child.

　　Nationality 国籍

　　Example ：

　　An interesting neighbor that comes to mind is Ruk, a young man from Russia. He was born in his motherland, but he moved to China when he was very young. Because of this, he is bilingual. He can speak both Russian and Chinese fluently.

　　解题步骤：

　　Step one--你是怎么知道这个人的?

　　• 可能是某个时间点，比如：刚搬到小区第一天;

　　• 可能是通过某个人，比如：我妈妈介绍认识的;

　　• 可能是某个地方，比如：电梯、花园等。

　　Step two--第一次你对这个人有了哪些了解?

　　• 可能和外貌有关，比如：长得很帅、长得很美、穿着时尚;

　　• 可能和性格有关，比如：乐于助人、热情好客、幽默风趣;

　　• 可能和爱好有关，比如：擅长打篮球、钢琴弹奏的很好等。

　　Step three--你是如何进一步去了解这个人的?你们目前的关系?

　　• 成为朋友，可能还会约着吃饭、相互串门之类的;

　　• 不是朋友，但见到面会打招呼、会寒暄几句, 从而也更加了解对方;

　　• 没有见过面，但时常从别人口中听到，为此对这个人也有了更多了解;

　　Example one：

　　I first met him years ago when I moved into my neighborhood. He was the only person who helped me carry my heavy suitcases. I was really touched by his kind gesture 善意的举止. Now, when we bump into 偶遇 each other, we always stop for a chat. The more we talk, the more I learn about him.

　　Example two：

　　The first time I met him was months ago when I was walking my dog in a park nearby. I got talking to him when I stopped to pat his cute dog. After talking for a while, we realized we were actually neighbors. He lives above my apartment. Now we walk our dogs together whenever we get the chance. He is my only friend in the neighborhood.

　　Example three：

　　I met her in high school. We took part in a singing competition together. Because I was really nervous and had butterflies in my stomach 紧张, she tried to comfort me with her soft voice. I was really touched by her kindness. Then we started chatting. Surprisingly, I found out that we lived in the same apartment block as each other. After that, we went to and from school everyday together until we finished high school. We were thick as thieves 亲密无间. Now even though we study in different cities, we keep in touch online everyday without fail.

　　Example four：

　　The first time I heard about him was when my parents were talking about him over dinner one night. My mum said that he was very talented and always passed his exams with flying colors 高分. I was really impressed. Last year, my parents invited him for a meal at our house. We had a really nice time. After that, we always studied together and he helped me a lot. Now we live in different cities but keep in touch online. He always helps me with any problems I have.

　　答题角度：Hobby/ Occupation

　　你和他一起干的事情，可能是你们共同的爱好，比如：看电影、打游戏、拼乐高等;

　　也可能你们一起负责的工作，比如：志愿者、小区核酸引导员、等;

　　如若是学生，也可以一起学习。

　　拓展结构：主次/时间线

　　若按主次拆分：大多数时间你跟他干什么?偶尔干什么?

　　若按时间线拆分：你以前喜欢跟他干什么?现在跟他干什么

　　拓展细节: 5W1H(When/Where/Who/Why/What/How often/How much/How long)

　　接着便可按"5W1H"来进一步拓展细节。比如：我们经常一起打游戏+when(什么时候打)+where(去哪里打)+why (为什么要跟他一起打);除此之外，我们偶尔也会一起去做做志愿者+what(做过哪些志愿者)+How often (做志愿者的频率)+How long (每次做多久).

　　Example one：

　　I usually hang out with him most weeks and we play video games, as both of us are game buffs. I always visit his home on the weekends. He has a special gaming room equipped with state-of-the-art 先进的 machines which make the games very engaging. I enjoy playing games with him, as he is also a pro 职业玩家. He always shows me the ropes 指点诀窍 and teaches me tricks. Thanks to him, I have improved a lot. In addition to that, we are volunteers in our community. Because of the pandemic, our community organizes COVID tests 核酸检测 every other day so we get up early to help organize everything.

　　Example two：

　　We are very sporty and like to do various kinds of outdoor activities together, such as playing basketball and cycling. Every weekend, we cycle to a town nearby in the morning and then go back at sunset. We are also into watching films. However, we like different genres. He is into action films while I enjoy watching sci-fi. But it doesn't bother us too much, because every week we will choose two films we like and watch them together.

　　简单一点，你把"Interesting"换成"be interested in"其实也就很好理解。无非就是你感兴趣的人。所以怎样的人才会让你感兴趣?

　　他可以有着奇特的爱好，比如喜欢收藏废旧物品或者所有和绿色相关的东西;他也可以把爱好做到极致，比如全身心投入到绘画中并尝试用各种方式作画。

　　He has interesting hobbies. He is a bit of a magpie 收集癖 and collects all sorts of stuff from the street.Most people think these things are rubbish and should be discarded. However, in his eyes, it is all treasure and worth keeping.Therefore, when you walk into his home, it is like entering a fascinating junk shop. He has a broken parking meter 停车计时器 in one corner, and a broken mannequin 人体模特 with a cowboy hat on its head in another.

　　He is the most interesting person I have ever met. He is bold, he likes to push boundaries and break all the rules. To be honest, most of us, including myself, prefer staying in our comfort zone, as it is much safer. But for him, he believes that life is too short to be ordinary, so he likes to take risks. When he was only 13, he went on a bike trip to Tibet. Then he published his first book four years later about the journey. On his 18th birthday, he decided to swim across the Quanzhou Strait, but unfortunately, due to poor weather, he was unable to finish. Even though he didn't make it, it was still unforgettable memory in his life.
