To ‘Describe a hand-made gift’ (Part 2 topic) seems difficult. The difficulty involves both information gap and language gap, meaning you have little to talk about and you have no language for your story. Well, Ryan has a story you could use. It is not fabricated but based on a true event that happened in a summer night years ago.
It was a love letter I wrote to my ex-girlfriend. Well, I shouldn’t have called it a love letter, coz um it reads no words, and I shouldn’t even have called it a letter, coz it is in fact a homemade video. I was shooting, with a cellphone, the process of me drawing a pair of hearts connected by the Jupiter’s arrow. I was working at my desk and had a paper lying there. I thought I was gonna write something, but my thoughts just don’t come around. Then I realized that I could draw something. Sometimes pictures carry more meaning than words can. Then I decided to draw the picture, two hearts, one arrow, connected. I sent the video to my ex-girlfriend that night. She was thrilled, cried a little I guess. She called me, saying that she loved it and I was excited as well, I think I probably peed a little. She must have loved my to death. Well, the break-up eventually happened, like other young love, ripping our hearts into pieces, but the video was memorable.
