How do you ‘Describe a famous person you would like to meet’ (Part 2 Task)? Katy Perry is also Ryan’s preferred choice, also for tasks like ‘Describe a singer or a music band’, ‘Describe a foreign person you know (not necessarily on personal level, meaning you know the person, but he/she does not know you)’
Katy Perry is the person I would like to meet in person. She’s an American singer and performer. I wish I could win a lucky draw, the prize of which is to actually see her performing live on the famous Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. The reasons I’d like to meet her are numerous. She’s an iconic singer, representing the culture of America’s West Coast, which is fun, energetic, and full of life. She’s a fun person as well, I’ve never met her, but I know it through a lot of talk shows she has been on. I can tell she is genuine instead of fake, she insists on being herself. She once told a story, on one of the shows, to a live audience about her career at the beginning. She met a few record labels that all suggested she could be another Avril or another Whitney Houston, but she rejected the offers, and says she should be ‘Katy Perry’ first then they could talk about other things. She has a documentary movie about her growth from a choirgirl to a world-class pop music icon. She also does a lot of chartable work. On of her recent music videos, it was live recording about her masquerading as a clown or a party performer or a pet keeper to celebrate ordinary people’s birthdays and at the end of the occasion, she intentionally screws up things and reveals her true identity, which electrifies the audience. She did for free, simply to make people happy. Some people criticize her for being patronizing others, I, conversely, think she does it out of her sincerity.
