　　本周我们来学习与电影相关的词汇。

　　1. premiere /'premɪeə/

　　n.首映;首演;初次公演

　　e.g. London hosted the star-studded premiere of ‘Harry Potter’.

　　e.g. Lots of celebrities were at the film premiere.

　　补充：star-studded 群星荟萃的

　　雅思听力12-6-2：The play we are seeing on Wednesday evening is a modern one and we are going to the premiere.

　　选项中对应：F: The play will be performed for the first time.

　　2. extra /'ekstrə/

　　n. 电影中的临时演员，群众演员

　　e.g. Thousands of extras were hired for the battle scene.

　　e.g. War films and epic films often employ extras in large numbers:

　　syn. figurant

　　如：describe a famous person you are interested in.

　　e.g. He played from a figurant to an international superstar. There was blood, sweat and tears along the way!

　　补充：put blood, swear and tears into … 付出心血

　　其他补充：

　　the main/central/leading character 主角

　　a minor/supporting character 配角

　　cast (戏剧、电影的)全体演员

　　cameo 名演员客串

　　3. cliffhanger /ˈklɪfˌhæŋɚ/

　　n. 扣人心弦的故事;悬念

　　e.g. The series/ book/ movie ended on a cliffhanger.

　　e.g. A cliffhanger at the end of an episode or a season can keep an audience hooked.

　　e.g. The game was a real cliffhanger, it is uncertain who is going to win.

　　4. trailer /'treɪlə/

　　n. (电影或电视节目的)预告片

　　e.g. The trailer for A Stars Born was released.

　　e.g. A movie trailer is a short promotional video that provides a glimpse into the storyline, characters, and overall feel of a film.

　　补充：release 上映

　　其他相关补充：

　　spoiler：剧情透露

　　build-up: (重大活动开始前的)铺垫;宣传等。

　　hype: 大肆宣传;炒作

　　prequel：电影的先行篇，前传

　　如：Describe a movie you felt disappointed about

　　原因可能是：By the time it was released there had been so much build up, spoilers, and marketing that the actual movie was no longer worth the time and held no surprises for me.
